Performance Enhacement for Fly 150.

I was seriously sucking hind teet on steeps on yesterday's Iron Butt.  No mods made to my Fly 150.  BTW I also weigh in at 340#.  Short of losing 100# or buying up to a bigger scoot, are there any performance mods for Fly 150.  Someone suggested playing with the variator weights.  I also see that there is a 190cc kit.  Will exhaust mod help performance.  I am not a grease monkey - so other than basic nut and bolt jobs require professionals.
