Title: High Desert Scooter Rally
Post by: John_Tonic on September 14, 2010, 09:31:31 AM
First off big thanks to Rival Gang, DMBK, and the Highland Hooligans.
I had a great time at LIL' SOMETHIN', and I hope to return the favor.
My humble club is planning on hosting a camp out in the spring or fall of next year.
You'll all be invited.
The idea right now is a meet n greet on a friday night with live bands.
Saturday we'll meet up and visit several of the local winery's, a distillery, and a brewery.
Then well ride out to a camp ground either on the Mesa or the Colorado National Monument.
We'll set up camp, and BBQ..
That evening we'll enjoy wine or beverages, around a camp fire, with live acoustic music.
Sunday, will do a scenic ride, before breaking camp and saying goodbyes.
Possibly raffle, maybe a Scooter.
This is all in the beginning stages, but should be a great time.
If your interested in attending or have any suggestions, please drop me a line.
Put High Desert Scooter Rally in the Subject.... Cheers John Tonic

As long as it's 50cc friendly, DMBK will be there!

I've never been high in the desert... sounds like a fun sort of Doors kind of Scorpion King type thing. Just exactly what desert are you planning to be high in?

Cheers!

We need to reserve your spot. Here's the deal. Camping is $20 a night for up to 3 tent's and up to 7 guest. Each site is limited to 2 vehicles with an exception for Scooters. So, if you tow your bikes to the Gathering you'll be limited to the vehicle and trailer. If seven of you ride you're scoots to the gathering all seven scoots can park at the campsite. These are individual campsites in a group campground. Please message me with your reservation, and how many people will be sharing your site, ASAP. No money is due up front you'll pay for the site when you arrive.
Camp ground information can be found here. http://www.nps.gov/colm/planyourvisit/campgrounds.htm
There are several hotels in Fruita, Grand Junction, and Palisade for those not interested in camping. Please message me if you plan to attend but do not plan to camp. This includes Locals.

•We have booked the Tenacious Brothers Pub, for Ska Showcase...
Bands Date and Time, TBA. Event will be Friday or Saturday Night.

•We have a tour of local Winery's planned for Saturday...
The route of this ride is amazing stretching across the Grand Valley, and even if wine is not you're forte the ride alone is worth the trip.

• Sundays ride will be followed by a raffle and awards at a venue TBA...

We need to start getting a head count so please message me to RSVP, or with questions...
I need locals to RSVP as well, The Blue Ribbon Kings are working on Rally Packs and would like to determine how many are needed. We also need a head count for the Winery's and Venues so they can be adequately staffed...

I think I talked with all concerned party's at the LSS3, but in case I missed anyone I will not be attending the High Desert Scooter Rally. My buddy who is the co-owner of the trailer will be using it the weekend of the rally. If I missed anyone who was wanting a spot on the trailer I apologize.

I never really got on the Rival Gang Forum to say thanks to all of you that made the voyage out to Grand Junction. So Cheers, I hope you all enjoyed our humble Western Slope town. The BRKSC has been working on doing it again this coming September. I’ll post the dates here as soon as they’ve been confirmed. The plan right now is to camp, but we are also hoping to find a hotel that will offer us an event rate. The Kings have also been working on a customized 86 Honda Gyro 50cc to raffle off at this year’s Gathering. Anyway, we miss our Front Range family and hope to ride with you all again soon…

Cheers
